Jenny Cheevers - Mortgage Broker

Jenny Cheevers has no complicated formula to account for her recognition as a finalist for the NZ Mortgage Broker Association “Broker of the Year” in both 2006 and 2007.  She says it was simply the result of sheer hard work. It’s all about putting in the long hours and making sacrifices,”she says.

Driven by a desire to give her clients the best service possible, Jenny doesn’t hesitate to go the extra mile - whether it means starting her working day at 6 am or finishing it at 10 pm or 11pm to ensure loan applications are completed and at the bank as quickly as possible.
That’s what I mean about working hard. If there’s something that needs doing for a client, I get it done promptly, and not everyone is prepared to do that.”

With an accumulation of experience drawn from her strong banking background and more than 10 years with the Mortgage Brokering Industry, Jenny understands the needs of those in the residential mortgage market.  She also believes that, as a Mortgage Broker, she is in the best possible position to meet those needs, by adding real value to their transaction.  One of the main advantages of using a Mortgage Broker instead of going direct to a bank is that clients can see a range of options in one hit,”  she says.

Another advantage is the individualised attention she gives to each client.  As a broker, I always work very hard to make sure an application works by structuring the right loan for the client. A bank only offers a ‘tick-box’ proposition and if the application is too difficult, it will be declined. But when you’ve been in the business as long as I have and have access to a wide variety of lenders, you know which bank will give the client the best deal possible and the quickest approval.”

Jenny says continuity of service is another plus.
“People often complain that bank personnel change too often, whereasI get to know clientswell and as a result, I can make the loan process smoother.”  With her knowledge of the entire purchase transaction, Jenny can take time to unravel the mysteries of buying a house - whether it is helping first-time buyers understand the conditions associated with making an offer, or making purchasers of an investment property aware of legal or accounting issues they could raise with their accountant or solicitor.
